Teri Grubbs has been singing, studying, and teaching voice students for almost 30 years.  She started her career in Oceanside, California in 1991.  In 2004, she and her husband moved their family to North Idaho.  She taught voice students from her home for a while, but a quickly-growing student base gave her the inspiration to move to a larger studio space and create B sharp Music Studio.

Teri has a degree in Music and is a member of NATS (National Associaltion of Teachers of Singing) and MTNA (Music Teachers National Association).  She performs regularly in local theatre productions and in a local Blues band.

why choose us
A few words about us

B sharp Music Studio is not just a place to learn how to sing correctly!  We understand that music is a way of self-expression for many people.  That's why we offer lessons in voice, piano, and guitar.

Many of our students want help with understanding how to sing different genres of music such as classical, musical theatre, pop, and jazz.  We offer coaching for audition preparation as well as solo adjudication performances.

We also understand that many musicians want the confidence to perform on stage.  The best way to be comfortable on stage is...to perform on stage! The studio produces two recitals a year; Spring and Fall. Our students have the opportunity to perform throughout the year and various events such as the North Idaho Fair in summer,  Festival of Trees at Christmas.  They also perform regularly at local coffee houses and charity events and have participated in recording projects.

Our biggest strength is tailoring each lesson to the musician as an individual. Some examples are:

Singers:   Help with staying on pitch throughout a song

                  Extending vocal range

                  Breath control

                  Performance/audition preparation

Pianists:  Learn to read music

                  Improv techniques

                 Accompanying themselves or others

Guitarist: Basic chords and strumming patterns

                  Reading tabulature

                  Accompanying themselves while singing

Musicianship: Learning to read music

                          Understanding music yheory

Our philosophy is simple......learn the basics correctly so that YOU can make the kind of music that YOU want!
